Abu Dhabi has gone GREEN!!! The city presented it’s first eco fashion show which took place at the Abu Dhabi Mall. The event hosted an array of talented fashion designers who were either local or international designers within the Middle East and the Arabian Gulf region. Each designer implemented eco-conscious pieces within their line and produced different garments using various green processes and socially responsible methods of fabric production. The audience enjoyed watching eco fashion couture for men, women and children strut down the runway which included apparel and accessories – and all were produced with some kind of eco-friendly resources, such as sustainably grown fiber crops or recycled materials.
The city of Abu Dhabi says the objective of the show was to:
1) Create social change through fashion and design related businesses by incorporating sustainable practices into modern clothing production.
2) Provide information and learning opportunities for fashion-conscious and sustainably-minded people.
3) Increase awareness about the fashion industry while maintaining a commitment to the environment.
4) Promote and support the eco-fashion industry.
It was a very green-glam show and we are very proud that Abu Dhabi has taken a step forward to help our society and environment in an eco-friendly way!
